Single Word Commands

    [​IMG] One of the problems of NWN will be trying to co-ordinate the actions of a variety of players who are playing live on-line with no pause button.
    One of the keys to success will be the ability to type short one word 'commands' that eveyone will understand and know how to react to.
    Obvious ones might be "runaway", "medic", "trap"
    Other suggestions?

    Thinking on the Role playing way... If it's not in the middle of a fight you can just cry out 'Hold.' and then explain you're scouting out becaause you smelled goblins, laying a trap or whatever. Or if you need for example healing in a fight, just shout 'Healing, quickly!'. It might not be as fast as typing 'healfast' or something, but it sure looks a lot better.

    [​IMG] Most of the basic commands like help, heal, run, come here etc. will already be in the game accessible via the function keys. So you'll just press F12 for "run for your lives" and all players will see it. Neat, huh?

    Yes Tal, but my understanding was that some (all?) could be player programed and wondered if anyone had any creative ideas.

    Well I'm pretty sure BioWare will fill the 12 available with just about everything you could wish for... They ARE going to play themselves too and see what should be used there...

    On my memory, most online games or even games with online capability had the message macros function included. That should not be hard to allow players the ability to make their own macros. :confused:
