Should Time Stop have been implemented in NWN2?

    What do you think?

In BG2, since they wanted Irenicus and Melissan to be the ultimate enemies, I figure implementing Time Stop was necessary in that regard.

    Would it have broken NWN2?

Qara for example was already sickly powerful in NWN2 even without Time Stop. She would have been just out and out scary with Time Stop available. I've heard quite a few tabletop DMs either loathe the use of Time Stop, or won't allow it altogether.

Then again, it is in the core rulebook, so ...

Well, Timestop-Spell requires a well balanced game ( be it CRPG or PnP to be of use and not overpowered or cheesy.

In that regard it would've been kinda useless in NWN2 OC. But it should have been there for the sake of completeness or custom adventures.
I mean, even NWN1 had it!

Nope. Personally I think 3rd Ed. D&D and higher is much too.. - I'm not sure what the word is but I'll go with "different" - for Timestop to have the same impact. In NwN2 focus has shifted so the game is more about character's stats/perks/feats/classes/etc. instead of his/her spells (in 2nd ed. character attributes were static, so character were more defined by their gear/spells/background/etc).

Even if they included Timestop people would still be more concerned about how to max out their spell DC's/saves/BAB/damage I think. In games like Baldur's Gate to be able to cast Timestop was like... wow... the zenith, the peak of all your magely powers. In 3rd Ed. it'd be like whoa... someone cast Timestop. Lemme check... had +40 saves ready, 50+ Spell Resistance was up, had Evasion and +30 deflection bonus from spells/gear...
