You need to put 5 weapon proficiency slots (not 4 as you stated) into Quarterstaves to GRAND master them. Then you can toss 2 to Two-handed weapon style. IIRC, Two handed-weapon style is capped at two slots, you can not put more. It will give you a very good increase in weapon speed, and better criticals!

Did you get TRUE grand-mastery BTW?

Nope. You can put only 2 points in 2-handed w.style.And 5 in any weapon a kensai can use (staves included).

True G.Mastery fixes only things that have to do with g.mastery's bonuses.

Can someone tell the exact true bonuses of GM by the fix? I seem to have forgotten. Though it adds ½ attack? What was the difference?

TGM fix from EoU adds the extra half attack and to hit and damage bonuses like you have in BG. Those I don't know.

I would recommend against it. Its very buggy, although I understand the Weidu version is considerably less so.

    I dunno...I didn't like it very much.

I'm going to go counter to the advice that's been given: go with pure Kensai! Its my favorite way to play. Something about a warrior with just a piece of steel in his hand laying waste to everything he encounters is really appealing, at least for me. And bah humbug on the idea of using FoA - do you want to be known as a Flail Saint? ;)

    :bs:

^Hah, but you can hardly find a weapon as strong and USEFUL as FoA+5. Just look at the statistics, man, it does +10 bonus damage from elements, perfect for those big guys who has tons of resistances to everything. (Improved YagaShura anyone?) And, oh slowing effect is just icing on what is already a most delicious cake! :p I can not think about the havoc it will cause when dual-wielded by a True Grandmaster Kensai at level 4O!

Dual wield Crom Faeyr on the other hand! For STR boost! Now...can someone calculate the damage per hit with FoA +5? Add +14 STR bonus, true GM bonus, and ALL those level 40 kensai bonuses! Pus KAI! :mommy: Truly scary!

    Go flail saint, go! :smash:

IIRC, a +5 flail like FoA+5 does 1d6+6 damage. Use kai. So 6 is rolled on the damage roll.

    Let me see:

    6+6+10+14+5=41 damage.

Then, add the sinister +2 X 5 elemental damages.

A total of 51 damage per a normal hit. Not bad? With improved hasted you can attack A LOT of times.

Care to compare to a katana? Celestial Fury?

10+3+10+5+14=42 damage. Oh. Not a big difference. But it does not have elemental damage add up. Well, most of the time. It can add a whopping 20 points of electrical damage though, a BIG difference. :p It can stun too, but allows a save, whilst FoA+5's slow does not. A big bonus IMHO.

Ofcourse, I am not talking about mod items such as CF+5 or Sanchuudoku+4. :good:

I couldn't have said it better.
Yes FoA is amazing and its Slow effect is the most valuable of it's abilities (see spell's description for more info ;) ),even more than the elemental damage.

One would appreciate more the power of this weapon only if he soloed the game (with some mods too :D ).
