Should I bother to vote?

I have checked the sample ballot on the Cook County Website, and there are no referendums this year, and while there are several local elections, not a single one of them is contested.
We have four trustees positions up for election, and four candidates on the ballot. The ballot says "vote for four".
Two library trustee positions are open, and we have two candidates.
Three commissioners for the park district, and three candidates.
Three local grade school district board positions, and three candidates.
Same story for the high school board.
The community college has two trustee positions available, and two choices plus one more choice for an unfinished term and one choice.

What's the point in going to the poll? My vote doesn't really matter as there isn't any choice on the ballot. Sure technically write-ins are allowed, but I have no knowledge of any write-in candidates and a single vote won't matter and I honestly don't know anybody better (or that even wants the job).
The candidates are going to win by default because nobody else is running against them.

Now I don't know if there were any shenanigans or legal maneuvering to set things up this way by getting other candidates off the ballot (we've had crap like that before, especially for the term limits and anti-gerrymandering referendums, but also for some races) as I haven't been paying enough attention to the papers, but at this point there are no other candidates on the ballot to contest ANY of the current races on the ballot.
Why should I bother to show up to the poll?

We've been seeing things about bad voter turnout, but in this case for my precinct, it is justified.

I'm not in Chicago, but the suburb of Arlington Heights close to the Lake County border about 4-5 miles to the north.

You know it's a sad state of affairs when even candidates don't bother running. :shake:

The paper only covered the Arlington Heights elections in the table showing all the election results in the middle of section 1, all the coverage with actual articles was about Mt. Prospect, Rolling Meadows, and Schaumburg where they got new Mayors along with neighboring town's trustees/village board members and neighboring school districts.
Then again, there was no surprise in the results for my area since none of my races were contested.
