Shadow dragon from hell

    [​IMG] Bitching rocks, makes life go by a lot more smoothly, of course the lack of friends is something to think about. Bah! Who needs them anyway! Well, maybe one or two. What good is bitching if there isn't anyone around to hear it?

    Kokensu: I see what you mean, but i think that the spell should add like 20% magic resistance instead of setting it to 20%. Because when it is like it is now my mage could just cast magic resistance and then lower resistance and it would have NADA magic resistance, so i dont think its a bug just bad programming.

    I surrounded the dragon with 8-12 traps and bada bing he's down and on the ground as simple as that =)

    First Viconia summoned 2 skeletons that the dragon killed while my other characthers summoned a small army. Then I cast lower resistance followed by magic missiles, flame strike, ring of ram, lightning strike, potion of firebreath and a lightning bolt.
    Down to badly wounded right away. Then it
    knocked my entire party out. Damn. So while everyone else ran my spellcasters continued casting spells while my monster army encircled it again only to be knocked out once more! Fortunely Viconia hurt it badly with holy smite but then...the dragon cast chaos on Edwin -the only party member that still had spells memorized. So I cast 3 dispel magic on him and that did the trick.
    5 magic missiles later the dragon was down and I had hardly taken a scratch. The only casulty was the brave berserker who attacked the dragon alone while I closed in for the kill...God that was satisfying to see it go
    down. GLORY TO TALOS!

    [​IMG] Not that I REALLY want to open up the debate on the Magic Resistance spell . . . BUT . . . when I first read the post I thought it didn't sound right. Seemed that if you cast Magic Resistance then it should have a positive effect.

    However if you think about some of the other alterations spells (namely all the spells that effect strength) they ALL state the the characters ability are set to a given strength (18/00 etc) and that if a characters strength was higher before it will be reduced to the new value . . . so I guess magic resistance works in exactly the same way!

    Just shows you how useful it is to pay more attention at magic class!

    I think those strength spell stink (those strength of one), because they will set your strength to 18/00, but mu main character has strength 19, Keldorn has 19, jaheira has already 18/00 and Aerie has a belt that works for 8 hours, giving her 18/00. Only Nalia and Minsc would be positively affected, but for Minsc it almost doesn't work, because he already has 18/93...
    Maybe in other parties they work, but not in mine...

    I checked my manual, and a strength of one gives you 18/75 strength, not 18/00.
    Only Nalia (and Aerie without her belt) in my party would be affected positively...
    So to me it's useless

    Strength of one is useful for Mazzy for she, as a halfling, is restricted to 17 strength - IIRC it´s one of her innate abilities too.

    Marck, I'm well aware of how the spell works and how it was programmed and all that. I was just saying I DON'T THINK IT SHOULD WORK THAT WAY. It's just my opinion, I think it would make more sense to give a positive effect. That's all... ;)
