Saerileth mod in Throne of Bhaal

    I liked the reference. :p

    The biggest problem with the Saeri mode, I feel, is not the underaged aspect. I could overlook the (almost) pedophilia. Hell, I love the Imoen Romance and that's borderline incest. But the difference between the two? The Imoen Romance had brilliant writing, and dozens of choices (real choices, not non-choices!) for each dialogue with Immy. There's extended quests and conversations even if you don't romance her. Saerileth, on the other hand, interjects at every possible opportunity, has crappy voice acting, and horrible writing/scripting. I'm sorry, but "If you kick her out of the party, then she can never rejoin - because she's got ATTITUDE!" is not an example of a good mod. Really, pedophilia isn't a big deal. The crappy quality is.

    But I'm probably not in the best position to judge. I uninstalled it after playing it for ten minutes because I couldn't stand that ridiculous Ye Olde Englishe.

    Not to mention they ripped off Shakespeare and changed one of the words, thereby screwing up the metre of the whole poem. Geez.

    But there is a difference of killing monsters than abusing a child isn't there?

    I will say 'yes', knowing that some might think different.
    And considering your link, I have my own opinion on this issue in these mostly muslim countries.
    But now this really goes too far off topic for my taste.
    I almost regret my outburst on this topic already.
    If there seems further need of discussion I might consider a topic in an appropriate sub-forum; or you might.

    And if it has looked like this, my previous post was in no way meant to offend some forum members here ^^.

    Fair enough. My post wasn't meant to yell 'you are wrong!' so much as try and get you to see just how grey the whole area is. But you are right, the age of consent is probably best left to the Alleys.

    Oh, in case your last comment was meant in any way for me, nope, no offence was caused or taken. ;)

    Definitely, but I'd say that there's something seriously wrong with a society that sees murder as a crime less severe then child abuse. But yes, this is a topic for AoDA...
