Just so you know, this week is the 10th anniversary that marks the death of 1 million Tutis within 10 days in Rwanda.

Actually, it was 100 days. And both the UN and US apologised for not getting involved earlier.
    - the conclusion to a lengthy but worthwhile article here.

Interesting article indeed. I had an idea the world was a civilized place to live in.. though it seems my knowledge of the world is very limited to my personal where-abouts indeed. :(

The other day I saw in my evening TV news footage from Rwanda back in the days. It displayed a crowd of people begging the Belgian soldiers there to protect them.

After ten peacekeepers died, the Belgians were pulled out of the region, leaving nearly a million people to be slaughtered. The UN did nothing, the EU did jack, the US did naught, France was far too late and in the end did only questionable BS...

What I wonder now is: how would the world react if such events were to happen once again elsewhere? How should the world react? Isn't similar **** already happening in Soudan, Ivory Coast, Somalia, the Caucasus, Algeria...?
