[IMG] Just saw that Ray Bradbury, author of The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451, has died at age 91. According to CNN,

At age 91 I suppose it's not a tragedy; still it makes me sad.

Me too. I liked some of his stuff, not all, but he was definitely a legend.

Allegedly he saw this before he died and greatly enjoyed it.

Really? He's gone? :( . He was my favourite author. He was so amazing. I've read the Martian Chronicles a number of times. I used to get this huge book of his short stories out of the library on occasion. There were a lot of his lesser know works in there. I have some comic books in digital format that were based on his stories as well.

...uh BT, are you sure its a good idea to give out your combination on a public forum? :p

Hey BTA - what are the first five digits of your social security number? I only need those. ;)

I vaguely remember reading Fahrenheit 451 ... something about burning books? Or was it zombie apocalypse?

Yep, burning books. 451 degrees Fahrenheit was purportedly the temperature at which paper will burst into flame.

:p, actually I kind of liked the video too... if I didn't already have a guy I would be tempted to go for Bradbury myself, well providing he was still alive and all.

[IMG] Ray Bradbury wrote a lot of great stories and had a life long battle with Issac Azimov over their science fiction stories. It was reported to have been an inscription in one of Azimovs books "To Ray Bradbdury, the worlds greatest science fiction writer . From the Worlds greatest science writer." Azimov was truly a scientist with a great ability to write terrific yarn. Sci fi readers will miss Ray.
