This is probably too easy for you guys, but I can't be bothered to apply me mind to think of a good one!

A horse is tied to a 15 ft. rope and there is a bail of hay 25 ft. away from him. Yet the horse is able to eat from the bail of hay. How is this possible?

Because the other end of the rope isn't tied to anything?

You can use sand to make glass, and therefore eyeglasses. Doesn't help the really blind ones, but riddles are often misleading by nature. :p

A mountain made of sand wouldn't last long. It is easily shifted by the wind. At least that's how I see it.

    An easy chestnut, I'm sure.

Wow, isn't this one form Torment? Well, the answer is the letter E

Just in case I'm right, here is a new one:

    1
    11
    21
    1211
    111221
    312211
    13112221

How is the next line going to be?

That is one of the oldest riddles.

I don't know a riddle at this moment. To keep this thread alive, somebody else may post a riddle for me.

    Alrighty..

You're in a room. There's nothing in this room apart from four light switches next to a door. You are told that there is an ordinary light bulb in another room behind the door and that one of the switches controls it. The other three do nothing. Your task is to figure out which switch controls the bulb. You can turn on and off as many switches at a time, and switch them as many times as you'd like, but the kicker is you can only open the door to check once. Afterwards, you cannot touch the switches in any way. It is impossible to see into the next room. How can you deduce which switch controls the bulb?

Turn on switches 1+2. Leave them on long enough for the bulb to heat up if it’s on. Turn off #1 and turn on #3. Immediately open the door and feel the light bulb:
    - if the light is on, and the bulb is cool, then it’s #3 (the light wasn't on very long)
    - if the light is on and the bulb is hot, it’s #2
    - if the light is off and the bulb is hot, it’s #1
    - if the light is off and the bulb is cool, it’s #4

If I’m right, someone else can post a riddle, since I don’t have anything.

Here, you swallow me, but were I more, I could swallow you.
