That is a point where we agree, it seems.

In this day and age people are not forced to marry, let alone have children. Your proposition that they might be going against their wishes in deciding to marry and have children needs stronger backing than merely contemplating that this might be the case. I'm sorry, but all those people who marry and have children do not do it against their will (which I'm not sure you're proposing) or against their wishes or desires. Many are misinformed, some are unstable, sure, but most know what they're doing, at least to such an extent that we can say they want it. And they apparently prefer it over the alternatives.

Those were examples you brought up and I needed to address. I didn't come up with them. In the end, whatever you say about my manner of discussion or my views, I may be sexist, close-minded, bigoted, stubborn, whatever, but I'm not wrong on the subject we are discussing. That you can't say. Believe I'd rather we were in agreement and I'd gladly give up any supposed joy of successfully defending my position for the pleasure of being in agreement. But I can't say 0 when I see 1, nor can I agree to split it in half, as much as I would like to see us in agreement. The very start of it caused a greater amount of grief than any supposed "victory" could bring of satisfaction.

I wish I had the skill or the heart to convince you, but apparently it won't work. What I want you to see is that facts are not changed by emotions or desires or ideologies. That a number of vocal exceptions do not invalidate the general rule. If you don't want to continue this discussion, that is fine. I didn't want it in the first place, predicting how it would end. This is no more pleasant to me than it is to you, possibly less.

I want my ex-girlfriend back so badly... and she has already moved on and has no desire to even see or talk to me. Love... sucks once it isn't mutual anymore.

Well, that's why booze exists. Drink and be merry, and try to not off yourself on the comedown.
