I'm planning to make a Ranger/Druid, but I'm unsure of when to make the change. I would want the most Druid spells I could get, but at the same time I want as much Ranger benefits. From reading the Charts, level 5 rangers get a 2nd favored enemy and 6 his first level 1 spell, Animal Companion, and attack bonuses. But Druid's get animals too. Would I get two? Is it worth to wait till the ranger gets spells? Or is that useless since I'll be getting Druid ones. Is there anything I’m forgetting? What about feats and skills? Is there any I shouldn’t get as a Ranger, because I’ll get it for free as a Druid? Also If I missed anything just say so, and add comments or whatever else would be needed.

There's a great deal of overlap between Rangers and Druids, so they're not the best complement to eachother.

There's no real time to make a "switch" between the two because at every level you can choose which you want. The only caveat is if you're not a Human or Half-Elf, you should keep the levels within one of eachother if you don't want to suffer a 20% XP penalty.

Now what the final level for each you want to attain depends completely what you want out of your character.

Compared to druid spells, ranger spells are junk. Honestly. The free dual-wield is nice as is the higher attack bonus, but neither is necessary. Druids get a nice selection of both offensive and defensive spells and, while not as good as warriors, do not get horrible attacks. An Elven druid wielding a longbow with Zen Archery and a strong animal companion (bear, dire wolf, panther) with buffs and greater magic fang is a force to contend with. You can also take advantage of elemental form or even shapechange into a dragon when the going gets really tough.
