    The times listed are Italian.

Well, Finland had the USA down 3-1 in women's hockey but the U.S. managed to come back and win 7-3. I didn't watch the game so I really don't know if it was the case of the US needing a bit of a wake-up call or if it was like the Sweden/Canada game and the Finns just were not able to play up to the USA's level for an entrie game.

@JiggaJay: today was the second day I think, I watched yesterday and today, I kind of like it already; great game but Canadians boys couldn't beat Sweden guys. Here some more news and the shedule.

Ups. People already posted an answer.

In the men's hockey I was really impressed by Italy, particularly during the first period of their game against Canada.

In the end Canada won 7-2 but the Italians really put in a lot of effort and played a real physical first period.

I think the Canadians thought they were going to skate circles around the Italians and the Italians spent the first twenty minutes knocking the Canadians onto their butts to prove them wrong. :thumb:

Grrr, I really want Apollo and the Americans to win the men's relay skating, but its on too late and I have a test first period tomorrow, so I need sleep.

I guess I'll check the newspaper tomorrow...

Go Apollo! (And, uh, the rest of the team too :p )

    Apolo won after all...
Apolo , Izykowski, Kepka and Smith won their round so they are in the finals. Great race with controvery, so in the final will be 5 teams.

Great hockey games also, USA was surprised because couldn't win to a 'supposed-to-be-an-easy' team.
Czechs had to suffer, they were winning 2 to 1 but Germans were pressing very hard until Jagr made an incredible goal
Russia lost to Slovakia 5 to 3, great game, when they were 3 to 3, 2 very fast counterattack(?) gave Slovakia the other 2 goals.

NHL players sure are making themselves noticed

    All yesterday's results.

I am not loooking forward to the Canadian men's hockey game against Czechs. Our men's team is playing terribly.

On the plus side, our women's team was dominant in winning their gold medals. During the five games they managed to outscore the opposition 46 to 2 with both of the goals against being power play goals. They were pretty much in control at all times for all five of their games. :thumb:

Wow this days race for the 1500 meter men was a thriller, too bad Kuypers was placed 4th by Davis in the last round. Tomorrow it's the womens turn to show how they can handle the toughest distance :D

BTW, I am of course talking about skating, which is the only sport that does matter at all, now that the climate is getting too mild for the Elfsteden tocht I'm forced to watch indoor skating :(

Well, the Canadian men's hockey team somehow managed to fluke its way into a win over the Czechs but boy did they look bad. Considering how vulnerble team Canada is looking I can't believe that Sweden would actually want to throw a game in order to play Switzerland instead of Canada.

Bah, maybe we should see if we can send our women's squad out there to play the remainder of the mens' games. :shake:

What confuses me: Why do women and men get different skiing courses? The women are just as good athletes... and although they are not as muscular (men are naturally more muscular), in relation to other women, it would all be even.

Well, as expected the Canadian men's hockey team continued their horrid play and managed to get shut out yet again. How pathetic.

On the other side of things one of our cross country skiers whose goal was to place in the top 30 managed to win a gold medal - it just goes to show that just about anything can happen.

Anyone else not surprised about Canada's hockey results?

I wish I caught Don Cherry's comments after the game... I really wonder what he said afterwards.
