I don't know who was the harder "hitter" - Bonham or Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge).

EDIT: I brought this up because it was known that there was a bit of a rivalry between the two great drummers (although a very friendly one).
Here's Carmine on Bonham (for those who are interested in such things). Whenever I hear VF I'm hypnotically drawn into Carmine's playing. :)

[IMG] For some alternative "instruments": the Swiss entry in the Eurovision Song Contest, 1979

Peter, Sue & Mark: Trödler & Co

On a more serious note, I loved Germany's entry from 1981:

    Lena Valaitis: Johnny Blue

Now we're on the subject of the Eurovision Song Contest, my all time favourite has to be Ireland's entry from 1994.

Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan: Rock'n'Roll Kids

EDIT: Wanted to add Italy's contribution from 1984, essentially a 3-minute opera according to Wikipedia:

Franco Battiato & Alice: I treni di Tozeur

    Jethro Tull - Witch's Promise.

IMHO, the classic Tull line-up with Ian, Clive Bunker, Martin Barre and Glenn Cornick

Mott The Hoople - Roll Away The Stone

I was just looking around on YouTube a bit and found this vid of White Zombie's Thunderkiss 65. And at the end I recognised to my surprise that I had seen that before. I was at that concert some fourteen years ago :)

    Indie time!

Newton Faulkner (okay he's not really indie) doing Massive Attack's Teardrop with an acoustic guitar.

Ana Egge - Morning. Saw her together with Nels Andrews in a private concert (~30 guests) a few weeks ago. The music there was more faster-paced than this, since she was playing with a quite eccentric band, which can be seen on the next video:

Nels Andrews - Rented White Sedan.

A reason I despise the corporate record companies.

    The Kings:

    80s new wave goodness:

The Kings - This Beat Goes On/Switchin to Glide:

I have to believe this is the video in question. I found it on their web site:

    http://www.thekingsarehere.com/thisbeatswitchin.php

EDIT: OK, Mrs. Chandos was just in my office making fun of me when she found me listening to The Kings. She thinks it's 80s "awfulness." What does she know, anyway?

The Greenhornes - Lost Woman. These guys cover this Yardbirds opening track from "Over Under SideWays Down" (US title) really well.
