It's official...I don't like Slayer. I listed to 'God Hates Us All' and not one of the songs on the album sounded good to me. :bad:

I've also taken a step back to 1999 when I used to listen to Korn. They still have a few good songs. :rolling:

Give old Slayer albums a shot. I too didn't liked God Hates Us All. In fact, I stopped listening to them when Divine Intervention came out. Show No Mercy, Reign In Blood, Hell Awaits are all awesome albums.

I don't get why people are so "ZOMG!!" over Rufus Wainwright.

I've still got Hell Awaits on hold at the library, so once I get it, I'll give it a listen. :D

Slayer is funny. I appreciate what they did for metal, but I honestly don't like their stuff that much. I will listen to them more to try and like them, but they're just 'eh' for me.

And I don't like their solos *shudders*.

I like his La Complainte de la Butte (from Moulin Rouge), but when I listened to his albums I thought it to be rather pessimistic and dark.
I much more prefer his father. The Acid Song i.e. or Career Moves.

My girlfriend uses lastfm, but I haven't started... Always a good time to start up, eh?

Does it catalog my previously played tracks, or do I have to listen to everything again?

You have to listen to everything again - basially, it keeps tack of what you listen on week-by-week basis. So obviously it gets better the longr you use it.

Well, I registered/downloaded it. The only thing I am worried about is if it starts keeping track of other things than music, like my personal information, credic cards, etc...

I use a similar service like last.fm, which does not require any downloads. It's called Pandora Internet Radio (www.pandora.com). You just create a personal radio station by typing in a song or an artist and it searches for similar songs. You can specify whether you like a song or not, which fine tunes a station to your personal taste. And the beauty is that you can have dozens of different stations.

I guess that's enough advertisement for one day. It has some downsides due to copyrights and stuff like that, but I'm really pleased with it, and it helped me discover some new music (which it was originally made for).

Heh...internet radio. Nice idea, but no thanks. I'll hold off any any type of streaming media until they find a way to offer high def music/video. Listening to music at 96Kbps audio quallity isn't my cup of tea.

As for online music services, no thanks to them too. Nothing beats the real thing...and not having to deal with any sort of DMR crap is also a bonus. If I want to hear a variety of music, I just press the 'random' button. :thumb: :rolling:

For Internet radio I use radioblogclub.com, I haven't seen anything DRM-related, no links to shop sites nor any legal mumbo-jumbo there.
Type the name of your fav artist, click on one of the links and just listen, it works with Flash so you don't have to install anything.
I don't know how good the audio quality is, since I don't hear the difference between 96 or 144kbps, so who cares :D

Turn up the volume, and you'll be able to tell right away... it gets fuzzy and downright annoying at lower bit rates.

I have used pandora, but the problem is that with my v. eclectic musical tastes, it thinks I like pretty much anything and therefore, gives me lots of crap :(

Hmmm, I am going to start something: What are some of your favorite lyrics? Some of mine are:

    From Throwdown's Forever:

You don't know a single thing about me,
    Just what my enemies say,
Well **** them, and **** you:
That **** won't cut it today.
Be a ****ing man and stand up to find the truth
    in yourself,
    for yourself,
by yourself and not from anyone else.

From Terror's Keep Your Mouth Shut:

But I've got music and I've got friends
    Both always by my side
    Convictions instilled in me
This is what keeps me alive
    You don't know me
    Don't know any of us
    Don't know what this means
    Keep your mouth shut

    From Silent Civilian's First Amendment:

    Underneath disguise of being free
    Lies a plan of fascism
Read between the lines and you'll see
The blood of children all over him
    Waging war and death
On a land rich with opportunity
    Drowning in a cause
    Inhumane led by christianity
God endorses war in his mind
    Liberate by homicide
    Terrorism's bred by terror first
    You commit our suicide
Pain will be the price of the ones we kill in vain
Forget what you read or heard in the media today
What else has been stained by the blood of innocence
It is inhumane to ignore what's evident
Election by fraud and by lies this is not democracy
You will be the fall and demise of our civil liberty
Look close in your eyes, see the truth
    You're the real enemy
    Our freedom of speech
    Amendment one
    Will fight your inhumanity
