An even better criterion would be to only buy games as a reward for getting some exercise. And then not play the game because you're too busy exercising. :p

Suffice it to say that I am more generous in my criteria. :D

Edit: Bought 2 games and counting so far. Total cost $5.63.

GOG and Steam sales simultaneously would be a lot more difficult to resist if I had some actual time to play games... So far all I've picked up are Psychonauts & MDK2 off of GOG, for a combined total of less than $5 (whatever that works out as in £). I'm still playing Dishonored after the last Steam sale!

Thanks a hell of a lot for mentioning MDK2, Magpie. I just checked the price on Steam, and the HD version at 75% off is only $3.74. So of course I had to buy it.

I swear, I'm now buying games just because they're so damn cheap.

Edit - just checked. I'm now up to 14 games I've bought but haven't even installed yet. Total cost of those games is just under $56 US (probably ~$60 Cdn). I wouldn't be surprized if the 14 games gets up to 20 before this sale is over.

14 total or 14 this sale? Because if that's your total, I've got you beat by like a factor of 20. :D

I'm going to see the new Hobbit movie later today, I hope the movie includes Smaug and the desolation thereof, and possibly more of Sylvester McCoy's Rada...something wizard / drug addict character. A lot of people *****ed about the rabbit sled scene in the first movie, I didn't, I thought it was brilliant.

Still resisting the sales. Had a average will save, but made it.

I also suffer from the unplayed steam games syndrome. Taking medication for it combined with work therapy(job)

Having no time to check the games that are on offer is a good way to resist the sales thing. Having no time to play games works too, but is generally less effective.

MDK2 is an awesome game and definitely worth a playthrough.

I gotta say that this site's color palette is perfect for when you've just woken up. Very easy on the eyes. :shake:

On an unrelated note, I'm creating a computer painting without a pencil line art base for the very first time ever (since I no longer have a working scanner at hand). It feels entirely weird drawing line art on my tablet. Like learning how to write with your other hand. Hopefully it turns out okay, considering it's my first public project in years. :aww:

the colour scheme is indeed nice.

you use to have all those old films during the holiday weeks. some black and white. Now it is just the dame garbage as usual.

thankfully, youtube has a lot of those. Like Yellowbeard, or paint your Wagon

I wouldn't know. I've stopped watching TV with the advent of the internet. As soon as I got my first ASDL line—or possibly even before, on dial-up—I lost all interest in the telly.

You mean you just watch shows made for TV on your LCD/LED monitor, which is essentially the same thing as watching them on modern TVs, only the screen size is smaller and the chair less comfortable than a sofa...

Actually, the screen size is larger than any TV I've ever had, the chair is actually a bed, and the program is showing whatever I want. ;)

In that case you're pretty close to watching whatever you want on a big screen TV. :D

Ofcourse not. My PC is located in the living room with extended usb cords.

One HDMI cable from the second outlet on my crossfire array is plugged into the 40"HD television. That swings on a flexible arm so I can watch it from any location in the living room without losing viewing angles.

I can watch a movie and play a game at the same time.

Never saw the point. Unless you're looking at the screen from 10m away, you're just gonna miss half of what's going on because your eyes can't focus on a surface that large. My screen is already too large as it is. :shake:

You'd think that but not really... the recommended screen sizes depending on your viewing distance can vary, but many are much larger than you'd expect. You're mainly focused on the center of the picture no matter how large your screen is in any case. How big's your monitor?
