Technically, we are all in a time–space continuum. Unless that's a quotient set of time by space, but that opens a door to a very deep theoretical debate on the nature of our universe...

If you get to have Thanksgiving in October, why I can't have the 4th of July?

In full transparency, I'm not familiar enough with the timing of Canadian holidays that your previous post immediately made me think, oh, she must be Canadian. I just figured you were celebrating US Thanksgiving early for whatever reason.

Somewhat in my defense, I truly did have a splitting headache when I posted that, and wasn't thinking very clearly. Not so much in my defense, I probably would have drawn the same conclusion even without the headache. :p Though the snarky 4th of July comment likely would have been omitted in that case.

In fact, I think I'll have to read up on exactly why Canadians have their own holiday with an identical name to a U.S. holiday, about one month earlier than we do. And whether you too are thankful for the opportunity to rob people of their native homes like we are.

Kind of d&*k holiday when you think about it, at least the U.S version is.

    Hahahahahah!

Well regardless of the origin of the holiday my family just uses it as time to gather and enjoy time together as a group, for which I think we are all personally thankful.

Yep, I waited a very long time for them to release them on GOG, but eventually I had no choice but to buy them on Steam. I sure as hell am not gonna buy another copy now.

I finally decided to trade in my Opera 12 and go back to Firefox. Kinda feels like having to put down a pet that's been with you for many years.

I'm gonna miss that brilliant browser, and I hope that the people responsible for destroying it when they moved to Blink engine contract a flesh-eating virus. :geezer:

    @ Marceror: already done. :p

I'd been holding out due to reports that Steam versions suffered particularly with bugs, plus I generally prefer to buy stuff on GOG rather than Steam, if I can.

Keneth - I switched FF => Opera a few months ago. So far, I haven't regretted it at all as I was finding FF increasingly slow & unstable. Forgive my ignorance, but what about the Blink engine causes issues?

Glad to see you got through it seemingly unscathed, well, minus a small depletion of your cash reserves.

Steam versions don't have any bugs that the other versions don't. At least none that I have encountered, and I've spent a considerable amount of time playing and modding the game(s).

There's nothing wrong with the Blink engine, the engine is perfectly fine (except for the fact that each tab is a separate process). The problem with Opera is that it used to have a large amount of powerful features and customizability. When they moved to Blink, they removed literally everything that made the browser worth my time. It was (and still is) basically a watered down Chrome, and that's saying a lot. It still doesn't even have a proper bookmark system.

Also, I find it intriguing that FF was unstable for you. In my experience, both Presto and Gecko are far more stable engines than Blink. In fact, that's one of the reasons that I've never even considered switching to Chrome or any derivative. With hundreds of active tabs open at any given time, I simply can't afford to have the browser (or its components) crashing on me. So far no issues on the latest version of Firefox.
