Dad wants to start cutting hay tomorrow afternoon, and we still have about 400 plus bales from last year! I should suggest that if the customers don't get what they order in time, they're paying this year's higher price...

Well, prom was a disappointment- despite not getting really excited. I think there were two main problems. Firstly, the whole meal and speeches lasted too long, so when they finished and the band started playing, everyone went outside to talk and get fresh air.

Secondly, the bar wasn't serving alcohol. So, naturally, everyone spent most of the evening smuggling it in. Alcohol was going to be inevitable- they would have been better opening the bar, which would have made them money and kept a lot more people in the main room.

*sigh* Rant over ladies and gentlemen. At least the girls did look very nice.

@DotW - Sorry about your isolation, but you may wanna check out the revolutionary technology called wireline telephones - the signal is FANTASTIC compared to cellular/wireless. And though the recurring service fees are comparable, you'll be shocked to find out that there's no usage limits - no overage charges...EVER!!!

    /tease

ANYWAY, glad you got to experience the benefits of a small town, mate - hope you find a means to accomodate your wireless needs....say, aren't you a bit of a 'historical phone collector'? Maybe you've got an older analog phone that you could activate on your service; one that might have a battery designed with capacity to accomodate the higher power usage of analog transmission?

    Just a suggestion...

I.O.N., The weather is as suddenly warm as Kuemper was stating - went from maybe 3C on Sunday, to 25C yesterday. It's been rather humid and muggy though, so the sudden rush of plant life trying to take advantage of brief Newfoundland summer may have caused the 'plantation' ambiance...
(and yes, I mean brief - I've seen snow in every month on the calander up here :nolike: )

Nothing seems to interest me right now.
Play throw & catch with a ball (Decados style), or become a goth?

Oh right, I forgot the third option, spamming!

Nah... once one tastes wireless, one never looks at wireline the same way. Besides, even in an analog coverage zone, I still get (almost) all the perks I have with Solo - 0.05 per minute evenings and weekends and voicemail as well. That's good enough for me.

Well, I *do* have an old Nokia 232... but problem is that it's a Robbers, and Robbers killed analog/TDMA roughly more than a week ago, so it's pretty much paperweight - unless analog phones are not SP-locked, and I somewhat have my doubts about that.

Or, I have a StarTAC 7868W who would also fit the bill very well as a pure analog phone (even though it's a digital phone), and as a bonus I have a spare battery and the car charger - but problem is this one is a Verizon, and there's no use trying to get Telus to activate it - they absolutely categorically refuse to activate something they did not sold themselves. I could work around this problem by flashing the firmware to that of Telus, update the PRL, and clone the ESN of an old, broken Telus phone bought in a flea market for 3x nothing. Of course, this is pretty much a lot of hassle.

Naw, my SCP-3100 holds it's own relatively well, and besides, speaking with the townsfolks, I learned that Bell plans to add a few digital cells up here, though there's still no timetable... :bad:

Teal, not tea! The colour! :p

Aside from that, yes, few things can beat a good cup of tea.
