Just to place everyone on notice, I have changed my name to what is is supposed to be. I feared it would be too long (couldn't find in the FAQ where t said the length limit), but I counted the number of characters in Sir Yerril's name and decided that my full name wouldn't be too long. But I'm still the same right wing Canadian Prairie boy I've always been. ;)

Here's a joke for you all to ease the stress caused by my name change:

A shepherd was herding his flock in a remote pasture when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced out of the dust cloud towards him. The driver, a young man in a Broni suit, Gucci shoes, Ray Ban sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the shepherd,..........
"If I tell you exactly how many sheep you have in your flock, will you give me one?" The shepherd looked at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looked at his peacefully-grazing flock and calmly answered, "Sure."
The yuppie parked his car, whipped out his IBM Thinkpad and connected it to a cell phone, then he surfed to a NASA page on the internet where
he called up a GPS satellite navigation system, scanned the area, and then opened up a database and an Excel spreadsheet with complex formulas. He sent an email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, received a response. Finally, he prints out a 150 page report on his hi-tech. miniaturized printer then turns to the shepherd and says,.........
    "You have exactly 1586 sheep".
"That is correct; take one of the sheep" said the shepherd. He watches the young man select one of the animals and bundle it into his car. Then the shepherd says: "If I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my sheep?"
"OK, why not" answered the young man.
"Clearly, you are a consultant" said the shepherd.
"That's correct" says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"
"No guessing required" answers the shepherd. "You turned up here although nobody called you. You want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked, and you don't know crap about my business. Now give me back my dog".

Hm, I maybe promote myself too, lord Yago the VIII, or Yago, duke of Marlborough, or Yago, the Skywalker, or Yago, the Troublemaker, or Yago, the Basher, or consul Yago, or Yago, the overcritical, or Admiral Yago Nelson, or simply Sir Yago.

But then again, I am a republican. I just can't do that. But maybe, Citizen Yago Cane ?

Do people really feel better if they add 'lord' or 'lady' to their nicknames?

[IMG] adding a title adds more importance to the name and person, Chevvy :thumb:

However I wouldn't - 1 seemingly Lady 8peeps doesn't work and nor would Lord, seeming as I am not a man **GET THAT, I AM NOT A MAN** and 2, who is to say that the eight are all women?

    I'd change my name too.
No big change, i would just delete the 4230 number after my name to oblivion.

I tried already to alter it to Gothmog insted of Gothmog4230 but it says i cant as another user has that account name. Off which i know nothing about.
I should ask Tal about it.

It just seems a little odd to have a few letters and some numbers for a name.
    Robot-style...hmmm... perhaps i should change it to project_3532 ??

    How does it sound? :p

Being quiet is not sufficient reason to be banned! In fact, I would postulate that if some people knew when to shut up, they wouldn't BE banned :p

I know what you're asking, though, and the answer is that I don't think they can erase names -- they can block people off, but once they've registered and taken spot # 432 or whatever, that spot is forever taken. I think that's how it works.

My real nick has always been Lord Keldin Depaara -- I shortened it when I came on the boards because I was a frightened little newbie. You may still just use Depaara if you don't want to hurt your fingers typing so much.

Even if they were banned, you couldn´t use their names.

    Right?

My one was chevalier des Trois-Tours. And yes, it was a highschool nick. However, I knew no one would even bother typing 'chevalier' in full, heh.
