    I do like the Alleys... like rummaging through the older threads. Oh I do. So much accumulated opinion, information, sources and links of all kinds. A treasure it is, I must say.

    My precioussss....

    Tal must never abolish that part of SP. I hope he wont get tired of complaints about US-bashing (bashing that is wholly undeserved, aye? :shake: ).

    Aah, yesterday I was delayed thanks to another WW-II bomb that was found and had to be refused, directly in the city center, between Neumarkt and Heumarkt (now guess Dendri, which line did I take?)

    It was discovered during construction work for a new underground line.

    Silly, that thing lay there for 60 years and I walked over the place where it lay and passed in the underground not much more than 10 metres away a thousand times. Weird.

    Grr! I get one thing fixed and paid for on our car and something else breaks! :bang:

    First it was the tires getting bald, so I got 4 new tires. Then the A/C died, but fall/winter was only 2-3 months away, so I let it stay dead. Then it was the break pads and the front rotors, so I replaced them...with a little help with my dad. Now it's the heater core that needs replacement...and oh yeah, summer's coming, so the A/C system will need to be fixed soon too.

    They want at least $600 to replace the heater-core on our car! Can you believe that! For those of you who don't know what a heater-core is...it looks like a mini-radiator inside the car, usually under the front dash, which heats the air when you turn up the temp. on the A/C controls. The part itself is only about $100, but car makers like to hide it under tons of other important stuff and in the most out-of-reach area they can design, so labor is what kills you in the end. :doh: Normally, I would let it go since summer is almost here, but it's leaking, and draining our anti-freeze/coolant from the rest of the cooling system. :grr: The worst part is, we were planning a trip to CA at the end of April, and there is no way in hell that I'm driving a car with a coolant leak 1,200 miles.
