Anybody want to mail some food over here? My iron butt can't move from the magnetic chair Dr. Von Evil made.

[IMG] Coffee smells nice, and some people need the caffeine (I have enough trouble getting to sleep!)

Coffee chocolates though, blegh, waste of good chocolate.

Coffee may smell nice, but it taste like the underside of a rotten gnome corpse.

There are tastier ways to get caffeine, at least in my opinion.

Nobody NEEDS the caffeine, they just think they do...then they get addicted and think they're better off with it but they're not. I have no trouble staying up all night drinking only water, even several nights in a row...Coffee and Tea are BLECH!

I like Christmas and some of the carols, but some of the stuff they play at the malls or at some jobs is utter crap. I agree with DotW on that score. I laughed my butt off when I read his post just now!

[IMG] Now Tea I like :)

I've managed to evade most of the Christmassy jingles so far. Luckily the Games Workshop doesn't play them or poor Kev may just go insane  The TV adverts can be a little irritating but seem relatively sedate this year (THANK THE GODS)

Will be starting Christmas shopping next Monday, not a little late am I? :D

I can't function without coffee. I'm trying to cut down though, I used to drink more than a liter a day.

Jack's the best whiskey I drank, but I liked Chivas better (best scotch I drank)... :)

    ---------- Added 0 hours, 3 minutes and 12 seconds later... ----------

Well, that pretty useless to say considering that you are from the UK! :p

It's like saying that someone from the US likes hamburgers, it's a given...

I'm fairly confident that whole line is blasphemy in multiple ways. Now me, I like my Lagavullin, but I have at least a dozen different scotches at home, all single-malt, most of which are quite yummy. Chivas is only fit to be given to the guests who don't know any better, and I stopped doing that because I can just give them Glenfiddich and they think they're happy.

Jack's only fit to be mixed with something else. If you want real Bourbon, try Blantons, it's my favorite. But there are plenty others that are all significantly better than Jack.

Jack and coke is fine if you're at a bar that doesn't have real Bourbon.

I've have many different scotches, bourbons and whiskeys (I must admit Johnny Walker Blue Label is pretty good) -- but Jack Daniel's more suits my taste. Others can say Brand X is better than Brand Y (and often indicate price for such a statement) but in the end it is individual taste.

For example, one of the cleanest tasting vodkas I've drank is less than $10 per bottle -- no after taste, goes down easier than vodkas priced $50. So I stock my bar with the expensive vodkas for guests who think price rules taste but mix my drinks with Sobieski.

Before I ice Jack Daniels I rather put the bottle in the deep freezer. Ice thins the drink too much for my taste. I receommend that for 40% Bourbons and Ryes generally. I like Jack Daniels not so much, and prefer Wild Turkey. Well, that's my taste anyway. From Bourbons I like Wild Turkey, Elijah Craigh, Knob Creek, and for Ryes Jim Beam Yellow (didn't have an opportunity to try Wild Turkey Rye, yet). Woodford Reserve is good. There was another one, what was it, Jack Dickel or something? Good stuff as well. My memory is a little hazy there because that evening, before I got to America, my thorough empirical studies had already led me to Ireland, Japan, Canada and the various regions of Scotland, and blends and single malts. It was late, so to say.

Johnnie Walker Blue is all right stuff. For 'everyday use' I have Wild Turkey (Bourbon), Jim Beam Yellow (Rye), Famous Grouse (Scotch Blend), Powers (Irish) and Laphroaigh (Single Malt) around, and some Cognac and Armagnac. I drink liberally. That selection, however, is currently somewhat depleted and I need to restock. Preference depends entirely on weather and mood. Laphroaigh for instance is decidedly a winter whisky, best for a cold, wet day. The others are lighter stuff, and Jim Beam Yellow is the one I like most on a warm summer evening.

    Ewwwwww....

As for the hamburger thing... yum! (But only done medium-rare, with no condiments/cheeses... Fudrucker's is the bomb).

Actually, I gave up on energy drinks because they had no more effect on me. A plain ol' 550mL cup of black French Roast coffee does the job pretty damn well. It's like an energy drink, but without all the crap like taurine, guarana, ginseng, and all that trash.

ION, not working today, and as usual, it's foggy as hell. I'll be cooking a batch of chili a little later, too... should be good.

    JD and Dr. Pepper FTW!

[IMG] My grandfather (by marriage) is half french and can't speak a word of it, Peter is fluent in french and I can speak a smattering if I'm not paying attention. For years he was calling grandma his 'petit chaufleur' (sp) until she found out what it meant :D

The lass in my class identifies herself as a 'Breton'

'little cauliflower' in case anyone wasn't sure. I probably spelt it horrendously.
