I like it T2, but why not use Whip cream instead? It will make everything sticky. Though it probably cost more.

We used your prank in high school, but instead of ketchup, we put whipper-snappers, the little white twisties you buy at Spencer's in the mall, the ones that pop really loud when you throw them or step on them. It will literally scare the s**t out of someone!:)

Aah, making a mess ... I remember a very effective disciplinary tool that was used to bring grave shortcomings to the attention of negligent comrades, short of reporting them to superiors. In that particular instance it was about a refusal to participate in room cleaning because said comrade was sleeping off base to return short before morning inspection. His view was, as he didn't live there ... we disagreed. Alas, he wouldn't yield.

One evening some of his room mates had enough of that, took his locker, and 'rolled dice'. After that, they used the water pump fire extinguisher and wetted the inside of his locker, so that the confetti they blew inside next would stick well.

He returned the next morning from whatever cave he dwelt in off base, opened his locker, went pale, closed it immediately, and stante pede reported us to our superiors. Corporal came in, and was outraged, and had to report up. Sergeant came in and was outraged, and had to report up. Staff sergeant came in and was outraged, and had to report up. We were to stay in our room pending further orders. Shortly thereafter our Captain came in to interrogate us. Because my comrades were talking themselves into trouble because they were really outraged about the guy, I jumped in, leaving out the part where they were drunk and all that. Falsely (I had just been an amused bystander, like the rest of the platoon) he assumed I was the 'head of the conspiracy'. We were sternly admonished to apologise to our comrade for our improper conduct. We did that. I was promoted soon after, 'for showing leadership'.

For inexplicable reasons our comrade ended up spending a lot more time on base the next months, in particular for guard duty on weekends - shifts Friday to Saturday and Sunday to Monday. And he started to participate in room cleaning.

This tread always make me laugh. It is very positive. How about this:

I needed an Id card in 5 days. Made photos at a professional shop, and ordered it at city hall. Clerk 1 says 8 days and you cannot since you have one. Go to the police and report it missing.

Had to work on the next day(friday) so I reported it on saturday. Moved heaven and earth to get permission to show the card later.

The police person said I needed data from city hall and they often neglect to tell. Lost an other day.

On Monday clerk 2 says that there is a special pay more program to get the thing in 2 days. I needed it on Tuesday and got it on Tuesday.

The photo made at the shop was not correct. The clerk told me it always happend so they had to install a photobooth in the lobby.

You see, it is positive. Happy end. (135 euro)

Or this: I build a pc for stepmother. It dropped into sleep mode at random intervals and refused to wake up. Even the reset button did nothing. Two months later, a new processor, a new graphics card, two keyboards, a power supply unit and 30 hours troubleshooting by me and a shop later, he calls me to say it works after a menu appeared asking the motherboard type.

    Again positive, costly, but positive.

So when I read this tread I see it can always get worse and that makes me happy in a sad way.

Luckily, blunt force trauma works well. :smash:

Or chemical warfare (provided you don't end up on toxicology ward in the process).

Though tbh, I'd probably just scream on sight.

:bang: :flaming: Looks like my "failed" drives may be fine after all. I had recently upgraded the Intel Matrix Storage Manager to see if I could get better write performance out of my array. So when two drives failed so close together I was suspicious; I did a quick web search and didn't see anything, so just chalked it up to relatively old drives.

Then last night one of my new drives was reported as failed and I just couldn't buy into the coincidence as unrelated, so now I search again on the net (ironically leaving intel out of the search keyword) and find there is a thread describing a common issue with version 8.9 of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager! Doh! I bet I'll be able to rebuild the array with the old Seagate drives once I downgrade to version 8.8 (or maybe I'll just go back to what I originally had).

Well, well. I get home and the same SATA port with another new HDD is reported as failed. So I downgrade to IMSM 8.8, swap out the new drive for one of my original drives and it's rebuilding to that drive as we speak.

Friggen Intel. If they knew about this problem, why didn't they put a banner on version 8.9 indicating some had problems with it?

I wonder if Best Buy will let me return the new drives even though they're not defective and have been opened...

Woke up at 5am this morning to be greeted by a huge cockroach climbing the wall. It managed to escape into a small opening in the corner, but I promptly flooded that with insecticide and taped it shut. I hope it DIES in there.
