Is it petty to be angry at a video game's character for double crossing me ? I don't know what's worst; the fact that I was bertrayed or the fact that I didn't see it coming...

On the other hand the real question should be; why am I playing Skyrim when I have a paper due on the 17th ?

PS: On unrelated news that's only relevent to me; "Operation Academic Beard" is well under way.

Well, I don't know, but I'm still not totally over my first betrayal from Yoshimo, and that was nearly 15 years ago! :o

Good question. The dad in me says... I want you off that computer right now mister. Your education is the top priority! The gamer says... play, the precious... play...!

[IMG] The real question is will playing Skyrim negatively affect your performance on the report? I know I can overwork myself on a particular task and even half an hour to unwind and have a bit of fun puts me in a much better and productive frame of mind.

Then again I also work much better with heavy metal music playing and a reptile or cat snuggled up to me.

As for anger towards a computer game character - I think it's fantastic that someone can write such a character that causes such an emotive response and is something most designers and writers strive for in their careers.

Well I always performed better, academically speaking, under pressure. I don't like to do papers little by little it seems... unchallenging. I like the rush of knowing the deadline is fast approaching and that I need to concentrate and stuff. But that might be just me justifying my procrastination. Who knows ?

I find I always work best under pressure. It tends to give my projects a little extra punch. As far as Skyrim goes - at least it's better than getting drunk and not being able to write straight.

Speaking of Skyrim, I think I've found a new kind of previously unknown dragon ; the Textureless Dragon . Dunno if it's a bug or what, but it sure looked ugly, at least compared to the rest of the game. The bloody* thing kept attacking Shadowmere, oi' stop attacking my horse ! I am your opponent.

*Technically it was a Blood Dragon... badum tish.

My washing machine is located in a sort of shed adjacent to the kitchen. It is not frost free.

I had to defrost the thing on Saturday and Sunday. The waterhose is easy, but it is always possible that some ice forms in the pump, like on Sunday.

I could not control the flow of water out of the device so the whole floor is wet. The machine survived, for now.

PS free on Monday to watch the big game that starts and midnight. Go not-Patriots.

I want a Textureless Dragon. It would be like putting unreality inside unreality.

It is a shame that we do not see any American commercial on espn America in Europe. We get a rerun of historical superbowls. Nice you say. I have been watching the same 3 very short films for 19 NFL weeks.

Hey, I guess I'm not the only one! Yaay! :)

Then again, you're female so that is probably forgivable. I'm a guy, so I believe that my lack of interest in the superbowl, football in general, and watching nearly all sports in general makes me something of a freak of nature.

Meh, I'm a guy too and I couldn't care less about televised sports event. I just don't see the appeal. If being a man in the 21st century still mean being a loud, obnoxious, and sports-crazy douche then I want nothing to do with it. I won't conform to a stereotypical definition of masculinity just to please society.

I'm afraid American Football never meant that much to me. I'll gladly watch European Football (soccer). And curse at the referee, of course.

If I have to watch the (stereo?)typical American sports, I prefer Baseball or Ice Hockey. Don't ask me why.

I know a lot of men who aren't into watching sports too. And a lot of men who are. And some women who are into watching sports.

    It's all good.

I'm pretty sure that it is testosterone and estrogen that define the sexes.

Hmm ... I always thought it was a couple of other things that defined the sexes....

Haha, I guess that makes 3 of us now. Though admittedly there are a few things that I never miss, like our boxing champion Dejan Zavec's televised matches, or when our soccer teams actually make it to any worthwhile matches. But essentially I'd only welcome the sports pages being taken out of the newspapers and replaced with something actually worth cutting down trees for.
