These aren't the happiest times to get back in here...had some trouble getting some sleep since a friend of mine's got cancer and then I pop in here to read what's been going on in here...

I really have to come here more often, don't I.

I can tell you all about them, as a twenty-something guy I've been in my fair share or bars. They aren't short on beautiful ladies either

This reminds me that my Uni has got several bars inside the campus; nothing like studying with a pint of red ale. MMm there's no alcohol here, maybe I should have stayed on campus.

LKD, I've never lived in Montréal, so Ofelix is probably a better guide than me. But I am willing to learn!! :tobattle::beer:

So if you decide to pass Ukraine, we'll go to a bar, get piss drunk and at closing time, we'll go at a crappy restaurant to eat some poutine, like any québecois who has any self-respect... :p

I just remembered how much much procrastination can be done in BoM. Wow I'll never get my diploma at this rate. Back to read papers I guess.

Heh, one of the webcomics I follow - Questionable Content - had a pretty good exchange today on two of the characters' breakup.

    "It was mutual."
    "It was?"
"Yeah. We're both sick of her crap."

[IMG] Going to be interesting to see if I can refrain from calling my mother rude names when she calls later

Because we're taking the decision to decline my DLA to appeal they sent the forms that were filled out and the report the assessing doctor made. I'm guessing they were supposed to go to my mother, but they came to me.

Looks like my mother decided she knew my condition better than I did and changed what I wrote out before sending off the forms. I don't think I've ever felt so disappointed in her in my life.

Based on what she's written *I* wouldn't have given me any benefits. It's pure crap.

O tech support for clueless parents I do hate thee. At least every problems are solved, apparently it was my fault her computer has got eum... something and obviously I had to fix it. The HDD was unreadable. I verified with a Linux Live CD, the problem wasn't on the drive itself, I could read her file from there. I then hypothesized it must have been an internal win XP problem, file system got corrupt ? Boot sector problems ? I dunno something like that. What was I supposed to do ? I backuped the files, formatted and reinstalled everything. Now some things aren't what they used to be, i.e. some missing software or the "look and feel" of her old machine. Got to replicate exactly what used to be from vague instructions.

" Y'know the software that did the thing with the rar files " Wha ?
" There was a lil' icon here for my emails "

    Urgh...

Edit: for clarification I should mention that never had any formal academic formation in computer sciences or usage, my knowledge, limited as it may be, comes mostly from being self thought and a tremendous amount of trial and error. I messed up more computers and OS than I can remember  This particular computer i.e. the one I'm using to send this message must've had 8 or 9 different formating, and OSes in its lifetime. I'm aware their might had been other solutions which might have prevented a formating, meh I say ! meh. Why does this solution seems to be a drastic one in the general population's eye ? Sure it's time consuming, but if you've backuped your files you don't really loose anything and you've got a working system.

This O.P.O.S (Old Piece Of ****) is nearing its 5th years. It has been updated to the extent the antiquated Mobo can support, I already have got the best, CPU, RAM, and GPU it can handle, which are themselves quite old (by computer standard). Not only that but I had to downclock the RAM I bought 'cause the bloody thing wouldn't support the higher speed meh !

PS: As it should be now quite clear, as the addendum begins to be equal if not greater than the actual text that I'm mostly using this internet forum to procrastinate. As much as I love my uni program, there's something in my brain that shouts " Arrrrhghhh no moooorreee the pain " whenever I try to read one paper in particular. Sadly deliberate obfuscations seems to be a cornerstone of Academia.

It turns out that me and Mesmero attend the same course at the same university.

    How cool is that? :D

Uh, the paper was inconclusive ? Is there any other place other than an university where you can seriously say " yeah well, we try, but thing is, we still don't know what the hell is going on " :p

Why have I chosen the origin and classification of creole languages as my main polemic for this term's paper ? Sure we know where they came from, but so far no research has a clue of "what" exactly is a creole ! Worse, most of them are inconclusive ! It's too late now to change subject.

Any thoughts ? Can I really make my paper inconclusive as well ?
