I was wondering if quickened and auto quickened spells were still counterable in NWN Platinum (all expansions) version 1.66. According to the official forums, quickened spells can be countered in version 1.59 but not before.

[IMG] I thought that Quicken Spells could not be countered, it's also part of the description of the feat.

Not even spells that you cast when hasted can be countered by non-hasted spellcasters, so I fail to see how Quicken spells (which are cast way faster) can...

EDIT: Ok, so I checked the NWN forums and users say that the 1.59 patch broke the "non-counterability" of quicken spell and that this hasn't been fixed since. I find it quite strange, though. I have v1.66, so I'll give it a go this evening if I have some time.

EDIT 2: Ach, another horrible glitch! Is there no end to this? I yield to the empirical evidence: A quicken spell can indeed be countered by a normal level 1 spell, even if the wizard countering is not hasted or using his own version of the Quickened spell... Xan was using quickened spells only, whereas Xzar was countering them without losing his breath. Fortunately, Xan got annoyed and decided to use his Moonblade to settle this.

    Pics here. :p
