    When it comes to voting that someone would donate and actually doing it there's always at least a half-to-third discrepancy, but I have to say that this low level of donations has surprised me. Especially considering the notification about the fundraiser is site-wide so it's pretty much impossible to miss.

    But anyways, luckily our goal is two-fold so even if we only make it to $1000, we'll still get something.

    Maybe it's because the site-wide notice looks (and reads) similar to the "gauging interest" one which it replaced, so some might not have noticed that it changed?

    Maybe adding a more attention-grabbing headline like "Fund raising in progress - 18 days left!", plus maybe the Project Eternity logo... [​IMG] ...would help?

    Man Tal, you shouldn't have to beg. I thought this would be something those who are interested in would engage in and those who wasn't didn't. To have to splash up big banners and constanstly poke people wasn't the intention. We apparently misjudged the interest. A bit sucky that we might not even reach the 1k for one item but I really do not think we should "squeeze" people.

    and

    Not really, to have around 40% of the people who said they would donate actually donate isn't that bad. Anyway, I just feel a bit guilty for introducing the idea and getting it all started and then see Tal have to run around and putting in a lot of effort into getting people to cough up the cash.

    You have to take into consideration that people are pretty lazy generally, so a few reminders aren't out of place. I wouldn't have remembered to donate if I hadn't seen the reminders.
