I have to say, once afgain, that I love this place. A small foray to the boards at www.icewinddale.com (A RAS site, no not the sword, author!) and saw a few typical posts... *shudder*

I'm posting here because I'm getting too off track in a different posts and I'm about to be slapped.

Someone put in that post, "What I don't understand is why they (like the English) don't understand sarcasim but their best comedians and TV shows use it so well."

Sarcasm is a difficult thing to impress upon someone with writing. When I try to do it, I put it in parenthesis. I do love a heated "Constructive" discussion though.

I will say this: "Never censor someones beliefs just because you don't like them. Find something in those opposing view points that you can learn from."

Just relax and listen to some inspirational music. Noone is expecting you to lift any responsibilities here. It is a roleplaying forum, not a place where important resolutions are supposed to be born and nurtured.

Anyway Interesting remark. I was about to make a thread asking wheter or not anyone actually tried to read and understand others' posts. Not just reading momentarily and then post the first few thoughts that comes to mind, editing along the way.

 

We had LOTR premiere in 10 Jan. and i think im going to see it.*slaps herself*Yeah! Im GOING to see it! The One Movie.

I got a new PC. Good. So lets spam with all our might.

 

Who else thinks that Bush has been fighting someone and that that whole blackout story is just the cover up....

I mean he had a cut over his eye and a split lip. Sounds like a fight to me.

Ya Bush did get in a fight from what they say on my home town news. I think he got mad at some one, they said somethink like"Oosama has left the building, we'll let him live another week."

Ok from now on if anyone see's me posting advice yell at me for it. I reliezed that I'm still to young to give it out and I am. So if you see a post of mine that is giving advice then tell me ot stop and you might want to refer me to here.

 

Math gave me money to be silent about this but I can spam now too and that is worth more then the money: Math told me that he alreaqdy knew what ToTL meant but that he was gonna pretend like he did not know it so he could spam and increase his Post Number by one.. permanently

On another board we had a spam thread, this board had no custom hacks and when we reached 1k posts, it started fecking up the board.
It's also happened on my ubb

 

Taluntain, I was thinking: There are so many Tolkien-topcs on Whatnots.. Maybe it's an idea to star, just like this topic for Random Babbling, also a Lord of the Rings or Tolkien-topic?

 

Why bother, when every poster and their mother is making a new lotr topic

The craze will end soon. The topics will die down. It's just kind of late to be doing that. Who knows.

Don't worry Xenecor, the boards will be flowing with LOTR topics at the end of the year. And at the end of next year. The LOTR-madness will die of someday.

You know I have always wondered why teachers are so found of Hexadecimal. They only seem to use the A-F part and seem to be especially found of 16.

 

I am having my final exam tomorrow.
If I fail this I don't know what I am going to do, I am certainly not the type to hit the books again right after something like that.....


Jerlark I had a teacher trying to explain hexa decimals today and he couldn't and that was supposed to be preparationes for the exam tomorrow. This is just great

Decimal system uses 10 different symbols.
When you exceed them all, you use combo of symbols to display next number.
0, 1,..., 7, 8, 9, 10 - as a combo of 1 and 0

Hexa is the same, but it uses 16 different symbols. The symbols after 9 are letters. So, we have:
0, 1,..., 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, 10

All operations from decimal system work the same in hexa - but you have to "switch" the decimal system out of your head or you'll be confused. 6 and 6 in dec are 2 and 1 to add in next higher place. But in hexa 6 and 6 are C and 0 to add next. Easy!

Now the conversion between systems is a bit tricky but not so complicated.
It would be too big to describe it here - so search the net or read some math book.
