I've seen some so far. And I'm frankly a bit underwhelmed by the amount of decent pictures online. You know, the BG-style type of pictures, at least.

Anyone got any links to anything in that departement?

Portrait packs can be a hit or miss for me - if finding ready to use images poses a problem, you can always use the portrait generator at http://www.notra.fr/portrait.php to create your own, just plonk any random image in there, crop what you want to keep and download the zip containing the images.
A lot of the fantasy style artwork on deviantart / pinterest works well enough if cropped correctly.

Here's a selection of portraits i've used in the past for my own purposes : https://imgur.com/a/0YRegq3

I'd like to think i'm quite strict when it comes to choosing portraits, so maybe something there will tickle your fancy.

Cropping random portraits isn't the issue. It's simply finding portraits that adhere to the style of BG. 1 or 2 pictures in that link of yours are somewhat close to it.

Over the years i've seen some people making their own portraits or mashing up the original ones to recreate the style of the original portraits with mixed results, so there's always that route to go down.
