    I think that once you cross that line and say it would be okay with name-your-favorite-movie-star-here it opens up other possibilities. Once it's okay in the mind's eye it becomes that much closer to a real possibility -- and not just with an idol.

    Saying yes in a specific scenario brings it a small bit closer to being okay at some other time (like with the attractive co-worker you're going on a business trip with). Don't start down that path and the marriage/relationship won't end on that path.

    There is no point in getting married if you want to sleep with someone else. Surely the person you marry is so wonderful that you do not have any 'idols' in the first place?
