    ok, Confession: Whenever I use a Specialist Wizard in BG or IWD (1 & 2), I use Evoker. Maybe it's just me, but I just can't help to think to myself "Gee, that's one cool title". At least it sounds cool-er than "Diviner". *grin*

    About the availablity of Wizard scrolls, there may be repetitions of them scrolls around the game, but then it's like you can't really find higher level scrolls in the first three Chapters, which can be a real pain because my Wizard can cast at least 1 Lvl 9 spell, but it has to be empty.

    Anyway, I hardly play Specialist Wizards now. 'cause it always seeem that at least one spell I like is from an opposing school.

    @Earl Grey

    When I said that i liked the evoker, i said it for the school of SPELLS, and i apologize. Its true, that the diviner is the best, merely because of the lack of restrictions. I always loved the idea of a gnome illusionist in BG2, becasue of the dual classing specialist mages. This has been lost in IWD2 :( , but, it is for the better. I dislike the loss of any school of magic, and it is really only that usefull for the bonus spells. A couple of bonus spells doesnt really balance out the loss of 2 schools of magic. 'Tis a beal ritch (as Rev. Spooner would say). also, AlexGK, you are right there is nothing wrong with the vanilla wizard, but this is a thread for specialist mages.

    Cheers.

    Alex. A sorcerer has spells known and spells castable. Yes a sorcerer has less spells known than any wizard, but they get far more spells castable than any wizard. Almost double in fact than a vanilla wizard. So totaling up all spells, that is, total level 1 + level 2 + level 3 etc will be more than a wizard. By far.
