Faragon, Im sorry. I shouldn't have gone crazy on you. Im just frustrated by the shortcomings of both editions, and I am in the process of designing a new system, one that is flexible, for both role playing and combat, but I am still working through it. Everyone has put forth valuable input. Can you think of some of the areas to improve either edition? Anything would help. Thanks.

    Think nothing of it :)

I'm interested to see what you're making. As for ideas on the other two editions, I'll look into that somewhere this week...

2nd edition is only inflexible if you let it be. Personally, I don't bother about most tables or many obscure useless rules, but I stand by the some classes fit only certain races thing. Well, some of it. I think that paladins and druids are human warriors and religions unless the campain world says otherwise, but I see no realon that elves can't be bards.
So if you play 2E as quasi-free form then you stop worrying about most of the rules that you don't like and get on with the game.

And NWP define characters a lot better than feats and skills do, most feats and skills seem to be combat orientated from my small experience with them
