Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what kind of weapons the Planetar/Deva and their fallen counterparts wield?

I'm just about to take on Demogorgon who can only be hit by +4 weapons and I was curious as to whether the Fallen Planetar can harm him or if I'd be better using him to fight the summons.

As I recall, the Devas have vorpal weapons, which I would think are most assuredly +4 or higher, and the Planatars have bows (and an incredible ROF, I might add).

On wielder: Protection from Level Drain
Special Effects: Undead must make a save vs. death at -4 or die instantly, powerful Dispel Magic, Stun etc.

The Planetar seems to have the edge in weapons then. The 25% chance of instantly killing anyone it hits is pretty decent, particularly considering how many attacks the thing seems to have.

How can you summon a Solar or a fallen Solar? What level do you have to be? My main character is a mage (neutral evil)- lever 28, and I have Viconia level 30.

As far as I know, you don't. You can *fight* a fallen solar in the ascension battle, protecting the pool on the top right. But you don't summon them.

And of course, "Solar", the angelic being that seems to act as the mistress of ceremonies for the whole thing, is a solar.

I love Devas and Planetars, especially how they heal party members and cure them of panic. I wonder is there any difference between good devas and planetars and fallen ones (besides color)? In my party Imoen summons a normal deva and Viconia and PC summon fallen ones. I haven't noticed any difference. Did anybody?

I don't know of any difference. Maybe simply roleplaying or aesthetic differences. That Fallen Planetar just looks evil. Basically, a good mage chooses Planetar from the HLA list, whereas an evil mage chooses Fallen Planetar. Neutral can swing either way. Same idea goes for priests.

I think, but I'll have to check, that their spells are a little different. I really can't remember right now.

SK says Planetar spells are identical (as far as I could see).

In fact, the two types of Planetars look identical in every respect except their colours.
