Warhammer 40 000 is kewl! You control armies...tanks etc.

  2. Yea, I used to play both Warhammer and Warhammer 40K, but I gave it up cos I couldnt paint for shit :). Warhammer Quest was also pretty good, that was much more similar to D&D, with a small group of adventurers, rather than f*** off huge armies. Necromunda is also pretty cool. The one problem with the above is the cost, they're a bloddy rip off (like £20 for a single miniature, though admittedly the models do all look fantastic).

Here's an idea, why doesn't Taluntuine (sorry i can't spell yur name) become a DM and start off an adventure? A simple to start off with and then grow it gradually into a campaign?

Do I give you the misguided impression that I have too much time on my hands maybe? ;)

Wish I had the time to run a campaign myself. Maybe when I retire in oh, say 40 years?
    :D

[IMG] What is Pen and Paper? This post made me feel old :D But I'll get over it!

P&P D&D was a really good time! It's all imagination and where it can take you! We used to usually play on rainy days for hours - Whenever we weren't playing baseball or football or hockey! It was a pretty big group - 8 or 9 of my friends in the neighborhood, with all kinds of different characters, different alignments (but we kept them secret and actually tried to role play them) and it was a blast trying to keep it all together.

I used to mostly DM in a Greyhawk campaign, but we would switch up DM duties every couple of weeks. I think the best adventure we had was tha Expedition to the Barrier Peaks! It was like D&D and Sci-Fi rolled into one. Hopefully there are a few more "old timers" that remember what I'm talking about.

But, now that I'm older (and somewhat more mature) the old group doesn't get together anymore...So CRPG's have kind of filled in for that. Which isn't bad - but the old game was always fun to play. Wow! this is turning into a book - I think I'll stop here!
