    Hey, the OBL thing was just an example - I didn't mean to derail the thread by taking it in the direction of a critique of the GWB administration. My point was simply that while I understand hating people if they happen to be soldiers who have invaded or are occupying your country, I don't get just hating people because they happen to be from a certain geographical part of the world.

    1. There is such a thing as bigotry.

    2. There is also such a thing as propaganda-there are people who actively encourage some haters to hate and blame any and all problems on ____.


    Also keep in mind that hating people even if they are foreign soldiers in your nation doesn't necessarily come naturally. It can relate to what those soldiers do.

    Here is something to think over. Granted it is only one POV but it is an interesting one from someone who is both western and has been in Afghanistan for years (thus learning a bit about both societies).
