Old Laptop Issues

    My laptop is 7 years old now, a Dell Inspiron, I've kept it in pretty much prestine condition and actually didn't use it for maybe 2 of the 7 last years (in the middle somwhere). My issue is that the processor is running at 768mhz instead of 2.01ghz.

    I know it's old and things start to fall apart, but the chip does actually run at 2.01ghz while starting up, just not after windows XP finishes loading.

    I've tried changing the power settings and that's pretty much it so far.
