'Better' isn't measured solely on results. You know this aswell as I do.

To win a football match (especially an important one) means luck. Just like anything else.

You can be the better team for 90 minutes and still lose. Happens all time time.

Greece, I don't mind too much that they'e have got this far. Because they have sweated blood bless 'em. Only a 3rd world country or w/e, lol. And they've come here and really dug deep. Good on 'em.

Portugal however, (I use the England game purely as an example :p ) have had the vast majority of refereing decisions their way. And should have gone out in the Quarters. The most important person on a football pitch is the ref.

This crap game is a testament to the teams playing in it. Poor. I hope Greece win now, I can't help but favour the underdog. Bless their little cotton socks!

Look, if you wopuld like me to look at something objective, let's do that:

(Just so you know, I don't give a flying **** about how it goes in hockey.)

In 2001, the hockey tournament, Sweden were in the quarter finals and faced Belarus, one of the worst team that actually have a national team. All of us thought "oh well, we have such a good team and we haven't lost a game and we beated Canada(that year best team, arguably) with 3-1 so why shouldn't we be able to beat Belarus? I mean, Belarus is a sucky team and only got here due to the fact that they faced some even more sucky teams, so let's check who we will meet in the semi finals, ethier Switzerland or Russia, and since Switzerland sucks in hockey as well, we gotta face Russia.

Now, we lost. We were the worse team that day, but only that day. I mean, we usually, 4 times of 5, beat Russia, and we lost against Belarus that later lost against Russa with 8-0 but go to hell if you say that Belarus was better than what Sweden was 2001. With the exception of our goalkeeper(Tommy Salo), they were REALLY great. Sport aint always fair, so stfu and stop implying that it is always the best team that wins.

But results are the only thing that history will remember. It's the same way that I have to accept that NZ have not been good enough at the last 4 rugby world cups (despite beating just about everybody in the 4 years in between). Or how NZ won the most games at the 1992 cricket world cup but lost the semi-final when it mattered.

The only thing that matters is what you do when it counts on the big days and if you don't step up, then you're not good enough. I'm amazed that you guys are still blaming referees and luck for this.

But at least we agree on one thing. Go Greece.

Gotta love that supporter. He sure kept up a tough fight with those guards.

    LOL!!

    Congrats Greece!!

    4 more things.

    1. BOC, you ARE going to get drunk now, do not waste the chance.

    2. I must say that Greece have taken Italy's spot for best defenders on the lead.

    3. The referee wasn't any good, where's Collina where you need him? :D

    4. Didn't I say that 1-0 would be the score?

What can I say. After all those matches, after the first round where you thought it wouldn't happen, after some nice matches in the quarters and semies....................still,

A GERMAN HAS TO WIN AT THE VERY END ;)

20 bucks that BOC will break his promise and not get drunks.

Another 20 that Greece will try to host a tournament soon.

Well done Greece. The Greeks will be partying hard tonight.

And, if you didn't think the preparations for the Athens Olympics were behind schedule BEFORE..... they sure will be now!

[IMG] Caleb, I'm already drinking the fourth bottle of beer since the end of the game.

We're not the best team in Europe. We don't have the best players in Europe. The things that made the difference in this tournament is that we played with passion and most importantly we played as a team and not as individuals something that the other teams with the exception of the czechs didn't do.

Also, to be fair with the portugese, they aren't responsible for the mess with the tickets. The ones who are responsible for this are the Greek Football Association and the greek travel agents.

Well the miracle took place and I have to get the 5th bottle. I wonder if I will be able to go to work tommorow.

IF THIS IS A DREAM DON'T WAKE ME UP!!!!!
