I'm not arguing his critics deserve this award any more than he does, but I really don't see anything worthy of a major award in his actions so far. I mean, if Obama's actions over the past year merit a Nobel Peace Prize, then many of the major national politicians of most major nations for the past century are probably due one.

Again, people are talking about his potential for peace, yet the Nobel Prize isn't awarded for potential, but for actual work achieved. Wait until he's actually done stuff and then give it to him.

Dude, our century is only 9 years old and we've already had two wars. But hopefully this one won't be as bad as the previous century.

I have my hopes. They've been dashed before, but I still have the pieces.

In an effort to lighten things up (though Chandos won't find it funny -- sorry in advance, dude) I have this letter from the Toronto Sun -- it's short and sweet:

I thought that's hilarious. And before the "you, sir, are a redneck Conservative Horse Humper" comments start, remember that this is a Conservative who likes Obama. All for now :p

As someone with zero creative talent (with the exception of numbers) I am always amused and impressed by what creative people can come up with.

Generally, it's 100% fat, gloss and other assorted junk, and 0% real substance....
