    My wife is a non-citizen of the US. (She is Canadian, with a valid green card). While it is very unlikely that she WOULD be targeted in these arbitrary arrests and detentions, my reading of the report is that she COULD.

    I find that very disturbing.

    @TGS - most likely she cannot easily become a citizen. One of my co-workers, who immigrated to the U.S. from Germany recently got married to a U.S. citizen. I asked him if that made him an official citizen, and he said it didn't. It certainly puts you on the fast track to full citizenship, but it's after a certain point of time - it's not automatic.
