Luckily a Canadian moderator is on hand to deal with this at the outset. Anglophone-Francophone relations has always been a sensitive issue in Canadian politics, and I can see it starting to brew in this thread.

Offhand, I understand LKD's statement to be a reference to the Parti Quebecois, and not a broad-brush bashing of French Canadians in general, or a denial that they have a right to equality.

That having been said, riding the momentum of Triactus' response to LKD will be both 1) too off-topic and 2) an invitation for unnecessary animosity. So, let's steer the focus back on the issue at hand: the no-confidence vote and the upcoming election.

Oh this is good, Global t.v. has asked me to be included as part of their election campaign opinion group. I guess that means that I get in their opinion polls and that I may have a chance to make some of those snarky comments that the news people like to read on air.

The first set is on Friday - before during and after the debate.

They were quite vague about the details - all they really said is that they would be e-mailing me instructions sometime during the day on Friday - so I guess I will just have to wait and see exactly what they want me to do.

Damn, due to my flight being delayed I missed the debate surveys - they had already closed by the time arrived home. Oh well, hopefully there will be more polls to come.

Edit: Bah, I got the next poll and it is only multiple choice so I don't get to make snarky comments. :(
