    No, older than any of those, although it did have a mini-revival in the early 90s. X-Men is closest in concept. But this was purely and simply about the next evolution of humans. The next evolution of humans had cool powers, but had to be wary of normal humans who distrusted them. It was really just Heroes and X-Men but with much cheaper special effects.

    When I looked it up in Wikipedia, I was blown away by how many series they actually made. I could have sworn it was only on for one series but it seems like made loads.

    The next evolution of humans were called Homo Superior, supposedly named after some David Bowie song. They were mostly kids, if I remember correctly.

    But as for the show...the closest I could think of is already mentioned with Misfits of Science, and
    a) it DID only last a season or two, and
    2) its special effects were pretty good :)

    I lucked into it, really - I was just playing the 'word puzzle sub-game' and I have vague memories of this seeing this programme once whilst visiting relatives in the U.K. - back in the '70s.


    Hmmm, okay:

    No matter what else he's got going on in his career, Chris Elliott can always fall back on having a semi-regular role on this talk show.
