    And Bod was shown on Nickelodeon as a segment of Pinwheel... apparently. T'was also shown in Oz, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Poland and Israel. Obviously I'm just too old.

    The actor in question is also one of the producers. The show also has pseudo-spinoffs based in Miami and New York.

    Why do Americans keep taking perfectly good English shows and making American remakes of them? Why not just show the real version and save a lot of money? You can't do any better than Wilfred Brambell and Harry H. Corbett. They are what make Steptoe and Son so classic. That's like trying to do a Scottish version of "Friends" using six new Scottish actors. Pointless!

    Sanford and Son is correct. I don't know about any Steptoe and Son, but if it was in the UK, it would make sense that I have never seen it. (By the by, Redd Foxx was fairly funny and hardly a nobody or a new actor.)

    The only reason you never saw it is because some American TV person saw fit to take the original brilliant show and make a complete copy of it with American actors rather than just show the real version. Steptoe and Son rules!

    Unless dmc's stated profession is 70's american tv network executive, I don't see how yelling at him and other Americans who didn't have anything to do with it helps, or stops execs from doing it. Assinine it might be, but it wasn't my idea, and propbably not anyone on this site's idea either. (If it was your adea I apologize profusely and for the sake of USA viewing public respectfully request that you knock it off and either be original or show the originals.)
