That's because it is well done DR, have a generic cuddly toy. I honestly didn't think it would take that long to get. Ed was first, then Chris, then Maurice and Holling, and then Shelly and finally Maggie and Marilyn.

This show was the forerunner of the DIY trend.

Long before 1979! The trick to the question is, what was the host of the show teaching people to do?

Stop thinking about home repair, folks. That's not the only skill you can learn from watching TV.

This host was the first person to make people - mostly Americans, but I'm pretty sure the show was distributed internationally - aware that a refined version of an everyday activity was readily available at home, and not something that had to be saved for a special occassion.

not quite... you have the right host, but she never had a show with that name! Certainly not her earliest work, which is what I have in mind - and which was so delighfully parodied by Dan Ackroyd on SNL when it was still good (IIRC, she loved the sketch).

Would it be The French Chef then, as I think that's the one that Dan took the **** out of, but I could be wrong

It's a food show, my specialist subject :rolling:

This is a quiz show of sorts, that started life as a theatre show (in Leicester Square, London)
