    No, this show had a LOT of Star Trek actors (original, Next Generation, DSN and Voyager were all represented) in both regular and guest roles.

    I think you must be talking about the short lived SciFi Channel series. I used to watch this show. It was about a new species of humans that are being born. They look just like us but are more evolved. According to the show, humans are only 5% different (DNA) than chimps, but these new humans are 10% different than us. A detective and his (female) scientist advisor ran around spoiling the plots by the new species.
