    [IMG] Spoiler request:

I'm getting very frustrated with the quest you can get early in the game from Varro regarding the Camaro..(sp?)at the Council building in Balmora.

I've tried everything and nothing works. I tried Felinoid's suggestion. Kill the guys off raced off to Varro at the Fort. He said everything was taken care so I left the Fort building and was attacked by the Imperial soldiers. They want to kill me!

Can anyone tell how to finish this quest without the guards killing me which will end the game with no hope?

Solved this one in IRC. Turns out she'd gotten snagged by a guard before she got to Varro. With the high price on her head, she'd earned a death sentence (killing five people without cause will get you above the 5K threshhold). And once someone's hostile, they stay hostile, so he was waiting to pulverize her on the way back out. :bad:

In my experience, when you go to Moonmoth Fort the guards will run out and then away from you for some reason. Wait long enough, and they'll just end up sitting by the rope handrail (or whatever that's supposed to be) near the road. Then you waltz in, let Varro take care of your bounty, and walk out.

Though if you can manage to taunt the five into attacking you, or kill them all unseen (so that you have no bounty), you get a little bonus from Varro instead of getting your name cleared.

Thanks Fel. I tried to sneak attack the guy upstairs but I think I need to buff up more.

Also, if you are a member of the thieves guild and have about 2600 to 3000 gold, then you can make a blind run to the guy in the Corner Club and get your name cleared. Then Varro will give you the bonus as well. If you have means to be invisible, then as soon as you leave the Council Club, go invisible and run like hell for the Thieves guild.

Thanks Gnarf, I may try that.

    Update: :thumb:
Thank you very much, Gnarf. It worked like a dream. Wonderful!

And thank you, Fel, for all the time you spent with me figuring out what the problem was.
