    [​IMG] This has been in the FAQ for as long as the SPS accounts have been around, so nearly a year. I made a post about the update in this forum then.

    And yes, believe it or not, there are bills that I have to pay to keep this site up coming in every month, so naturally the people who help monetarily are the ones most deserving of praise, since they help keep the site free for everyone else to use.

    I know; I maintain a website too and been considering moving on a rented server. 500 megs, gigs of bandwidth, own email and address; 50 euros per years. Anyway, it would be interesting if you could post some statistics about SP, like how much space it takes, how much data is transferred, and so on. As an admin, to me it would be interesting to know how the usage developes on sites like this. Plus, you can tell us how much of the donated money you are actually using on rent. ;)

    The entire SP is about 15GB (most of this is large SPS files), using 200-400GB of bandwidth a month. But then there's also a number of our hosted sites, which altogether just about double the bandwidth figure above, but take a bit less space.

    Most of the donated money goes directly into paying the bills every month, and what's left is our safeguard for the times when there isn't enough money to cover the bills, or when various server upgrades, new services and software are needed or due to be renewed. But this is off topic, considering all the money donated by people listed here goes directly into paying the bills, as it is noted on the first page of the thread.
