'eeey. First topic in a long long while, so bear with me.

First of all, how many of you are actually called Matthew? I am, and I've often thought of it as a weird name that no-one has.

Secondly, if you're not called Matthew, who do you know who is? Are they a nice person, or are they a complete moron?

Finally, what is your/their nickname? I'm generically known as Matt, Spanky to some.

Seems a strange topic, I know, but there you go.

My real name is Thijs, (Pron. Tice, rhyming with mice, or, more appropriate here, Dice)
Thijs is short for Matthijs, which is about the Dutch version of Matthew. So that would be Thew for me. :p

Seems that Mattias (Matthew) is a Hebrew name meaning Gift from God, or something similar. I always knew I was that special :D ;)

    I got some nicks.
Malle Pietje (Silly Pete), used on school.
    Theo at work
Stijf (Stiff) for some friends, has something to do with nipples. My own, that is. :heh:

    @Shell: Michelle is actually she-Michael ;)

I have known two in my whole life: one is my godfather, and the other doesn't really count as I knew him for like two years whole ages ago. Or wait, one more guy: Tarzan type from early elementary school.

I've never thought of Matthew as being an uncommon name, at least here. I think it's from the bible.

I knew two Matt's in my grade in high school, both athlete's, and fairly nice guys. In college, a friend of a friend was named Matt, but I didn't know him well enough to judge his character.

There are far more uncommon names than Matthew, I believe. For instance, I've only known (personally) two others with my name, though there are/were a couple of celebrities with the same name.

Yes Matthew is from the Bible. He wrote one of the books. Along with (Matthew) Mark Luke and John.

I've known quite a few Matthews over the years, most of whom go by "Matt." Strangely enough, the only "Matthew" I've known is my cousin's cat

My second name is Matthew, and I know quite a few other Matthews. One of them has some really strange nicknames, such as Big Headed Nerd and Donkey f***er.

    Don't ask :shake:

My name is the french version of Matthew ¨Mathieu¨. Those who are born in 85' to 90' in Quebec (As I), Mathieu is a very popular name, in fact each years at High School I meet a new Matt... :p

Also My name is in the bible but I'm consider myself non-believer in any religion I am baptized though ironic no?
