I found the use of "cover" was pointless and I figured out why it didn't work as well as it did in Gears of War.

First off enemies usually miss. Second and the major problem was that they provide "standing cover" 99% of the time as oposed to "ducking cover" which was used extensively in Gears of War. With "standing cover" you can use strafing like in any other shooter game, making the actual cover option useless.

It is a shame. such a nice world, so much potential and then this combat. I hope that dragon age does it right, but I lost fate In Bioware.

The combat wasn't so bad if you were able to do it without becoming passive and static. Using hotkeys for powers and learning to move in comat was a major turning point for me.

    1. Pick Adept or another bio-focused class.
    2. Get Singularity.
    3. Game won :p.

I just finished the game a couple of days ago on the 360. The main plot is pretty awesome, despite being quite short but a lot of the side quests were naff. I was looking forward to a bit more interaction with my NPC's and some more big worlds with sidequests on them other than the Citadel - I got bored flying around the galaxy pretty quickly when I realised there wasn't much to see. I really liked the cinematic feel (despite some of the cheesy bits :D ) and the voice acting was belting which really helped set the atmosphere.

The main plot is definately the best bit and the NPC's are great but there's not enough time with them to actually feel like you're connected to them.

It is a good game, but to much questfodder to be great. Just a game, not a Bioware game. Shame.

General question? If Mass Effect 2 is the same length would you buy is at full price or wait to pick it up from the lowered prices shelf, or even from the budget bin?

I had the same feeling whit Jade Empire, and it leaves a foul taste in my mouth. I know one thing, for Dragon Age I wait until all the reviews are in. I am not impressed whit the propaganda so far.

Mass Effect 2 will be A LOT like the first installment, me thinks. I gave 25 euros for the game soon after release and was content with the purchase, but 60 would not have been worth it. I aim to do more or less the same thing with the next version(s).
