[IMG] I think as far as copyright goes as long as you don't try to make profit off of it you are fine. It's called fan fiction and that's ok.

I am curious, would you take the PC through with NPC's provided by the game or NPC's of your own through multuplayer, as this is bound to affect the story. How much embellishment to the story will you do? I have written the beginning and plan to keep writing a story through BG2 and plan to take it on to ToB as well. And maybe I will go back and write the BG1 half of the story. But as you can see I do a little embellishing to the game's events. I think this is nice and adds to the story. I would reccomend though that if it is long, which I am sure it will be, to write it on your own and submit to Tal to put up in the Fan Fiction part of the site, rather than rely on the boards because if it is too long no one reads it and bothers to reply :( . This may or may not work for you. Well here is the link, check it out if you like:

I can't tell you much about it but I do wish you luck with your story. I suppose you know there are already books about BG1, BG2 and ToB? You can find them t the books section of this site.

[IMG] I am going to try to stick to the main game plot as much as possible, but I will embellish. I will use NPCs in it. And I do know about the novels by Philip Athens... unfortunately. I did not like the way he seemed to disregard the events and most of the NPSs in BG. I thank you all for your advice and I hope Tal will post it when it is done. :)
