    Has anyone done it?

For those that have, do you have a quick overview of what happens when you join the Vamps?

Now I joined the Shadow Thieves and once in Spellhold, you meet up with Bohdi again. So what happens when you side with her and The Vamps?

Is it Aran that is there instead in Spellhold or does Bohdi backstab you?

    Syl...

Didn't try that way, but I read that the 3rd mission Bodhy gives you is to kill Aran Linvail, so you can't meet him later.

Bodhi will probably backstab you, hehe... never work with Vampires ;).

I did it that way. Basically you start off with killing all shadow thieves including Aran (which gives you the Amulet of Power and elven chain mail +1 among other things).

Bodhi "betrays" you at Spellhold and the story is the same after that.

One advantage is that you do don't have fight the vampires early on. You still have to kill them in chapter 6 though. So if you want a kill'em'all kind of story this would be the way to go :)

I'm not sure but I don't think it's possible to get Edwin this way though.

In ch 6 you obviously don't have thieves to help you out, but who cares when you can get Drizzt to help you.

I went with the vamps just because I'm using a evil character, and I felt it would be the most appropriate option.

You can get Edwin, but you have to get him into your party early on, or after you spent too much money to pay for the info.

With Bohdi, you have to perform three quests. Although it is not in the typed message, but the voice clip distinctivly mentions being able to safely rest in the cryps, and that you would be able to purchase and sell items thier, but I was unable to locate anyone who would buy or sell anything. I did find that you can wander around the cryps freely, and grab all the goodies (i.e. mace of disruption) unmolested

1st - terror attack on thieves guild smuggling operation at the docks - have to kill a group of thieves and bring the smuggled goods (crate of wooden stakes) back to Bohdi.

2nd - you get to choose to perform either the nice quest, or the evil quest (with Viconia, Edwin, and Korgan in the group they all strongly encourage the evil one). I don't know what the nice one is, but for the evil one Bohdi gives you a dagger and cloak and has you go to the government district (manor right next to where you enter the area) and assasinate the noble, leaving the items in the fountain inside his house. From the dialoge it seams to imply the possibility of letting the noble walk off and still complete the quest, but I looked at it as my LE character cant stand sniviling weaklings and blasted him with a fireball. You end up fighting the noble, a fighter guard, and a halfling (maybe gnome) mage who is invisible until you attack.

The final task for Bohdi is to kill Aran (?) the head of the shadow thieves. For me this made going with the vamps the right choice because it was the best battle I have ran into in any of the series. With three mages (myself, jan, and Edwin) and battles in large rooms where I could go whild with the area effect spells I've went through the guild three times just for fun.

Between the fighting, and the experiance from Bohdi, all of my party went up almost two levels (for single class) and 1 level in both class for the multi class.

I did the nice quest and if I think it was to free an informer held captive by the thieves. Not much of a challenge really. I think it was upstairs in Arans guild house. (Would he still be there without taking this option?)
