Here's a challenge for those of you that are very well read:

    When I was about 12, I read a book (strangely enough!:p)

I've been trying to locate it/remember the title for about 4 years now and it's really starting to p*** me off!

OK, what I can sort of remember:

    • Main character is a guy called Ralph?
    • His best friend is a girl called Maddie/Maddy
    • His mum is ill and has to go away/called away to look after sick friend
    • As a result his uncle Alistair turns up to look after him
    • New neighbour - female. Turns out to be combination of Morgan Le Fay and Vivien (chick who imprisoned Merlin)
    • Morgan curses people in power - police chief, bishop etc. (curses are done using symbols painted with yellow paint)
    • Her ultimate aim is to destroy local town in fire and water
    • Spawns Leviathan using fire to hatch it's egg, then aims to use it to destroy the local dam.
    • There's a grandfather clock with a rainbow painted on its face that is used at one point to turn back time an hour.
    • There has been a sequel written - read that at about 13.
Hope someone can identify this as it is very frustrating to say the least.

A Witch in Time, by William Raeper, perhaps?

The sequel would be Warrior of Light.

    Hadn't read either, though.

Heh. I just got lucky with keywords, actually.

    Glad it helped, Tarrasque. :)
