Ok here's a question: Do long bows have better ranges than the short bows? In a recent topic (Gesen vs. Tasherons) Rastor stated that the Gesen bow was "the best bow in the game, period." Do you guys agree? And is there a patch/mod that fixes it's speed? I've always given my archers and ranged warriors mastery in long bows because I thought they were more powerful and had better range, but now I'm not so sure. Hook a brutah up!

In SoA i think its a toss up between Heartseeker and Strongarm... 1 thing tho.. does anyone know if your strength contributes to damage when using a longbow?

I.e: a guy with 19 strength does more damage with heartseeker than a guy with 18?

Nope. The only missile weapon that factors in strength to your damage is the Sling of Seeking. Bows don't because their speed and power have nothing to do with your strength, but rather the snap and poundage of the bow. Slings are different, because the swing of your arm is what hurtles the bullet through the air.

That said, I don't know why all slings don't add the strength bonus, but I'm glad at least that the Sling of Seeking does.

The reasons for my statement of Gesen being the best bow are as follows:

    1. It is the only bow in the game capable of striking opponents immune to +3 weapons and lower (ie. Kangaxx)

    2. It requires no ammunition.

    3. It does electrical damage, as opposed to physical, so it's more damaging to mages with protections.

    4. There's no range difference between longbows and shortbows in the game.
